Mentorship Program

Becoming a Mentor

The Korean American Bar Association of San Diego (KABA-SD) is proud to sponsor a mentoring program designed to provide guidance and connections within the San Diego legal community for law students and young lawyers.  If you are a lawyer with more than two (2) years of experience, we hope that you will consider becoming a KABA-SD mentor.

KABA-SD has established a pool of members that are interested in finding a mentor in the San Diego legal community.  We will match up a potential mentor with each mentee based on experience, interests, and practice area.  The mentee will be responsible for making initial contact with their mentor, and arranging a meeting over coffee or lunch.  Subsequent meetings/communications will be mutually agreed upon between the mentor and mentee. Our goal is to provide law students and young lawyers with a resource that they can use to learn about the practice of law and develop contacts in the broader legal community.  We hope that our mentors can serve as both a sounding board and a source of practical guidance on diverse issues ranging from career development to the real world problems new lawyers face representing clients in the community.  Because each relationship will be different, we do not plan to set specific requirements but we hope that each mentor/mentee pair will meet at least monthly, and that mentors will be available as necessary to respond to questions and work with their mentees.

Please consider donating your time and expertise as a mentor.  This will be a worthwhile experience for everyone involved.  If interested, please contact us at KABA.SD@gmail.com.
