Endorsement Policy

October 3rd, 2011

KABA-SD will consider requests for official endorsement of individuals seeking local judicial or bar association positions.

Those seeking endorsement from KABA-SD should submit:

  1. A cover letter responding to the following:
    • Why do you seek an endorsement from KABA-SD?  Include a description of any past or current involvement with KABA-SD.
    • Please describe why your appointment/election to the office you desire would further the cause of diversity within the San Diego community. Include all relevant past contributions to the minority community, including participation in bar associations, pro bono work and other volunteer commitments.
    • Please describe the highlights of your legal career and relevant aspects of past non-legal work as it pertains to the position you are seeking.
  2. A resume.
  3. Any other relevant materials.

Please submit the listed items at least three weeks prior to the date by which the endorsement is due.

KABA-SD will evaluate each candidate’s request for endorsement on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the cover letter and resume, KABA-SD may request references and/or an interview with the applicant.

KABA-SD reserves the right to decline endorsement requests based on insufficient time for its evaluation.
