Bar Exam Scholarship Winners

August 30th, 2017

KABA-SD is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2017 KABA-SD Bar Exam Scholarships. KABA-SD has great confidence that both recipients are headed for meaningful careers and much success. After reviewing each candidate’s written application materials and conducting personal interviews, the Scholarship Committee has decided to award this year’s KABA-SD Bar Exam Scholarship to Julia Kaneshiro and Injae Kang:

Julia Kaneshiro obtained her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is a law student at California Western School of Law and will graduate in 2018. Julia is active in the local community and involved in various organizations in and out of law school. In particular, she was a student ambassador for California Western School of Law and a student representative for the Korean American Bar Association of San Diego (KABA-SD) and the National Asian Pacific Islander Prosecutors Association (NAPIPA). Julia frequently volunteered her time to KABA-SD and will be involved in the future. She hopes to pursue a career in public interest as a prosecutor in the District Attorney’s office.

Injae Kang obtained her undergraduate degree in liberal studies with a concentration in English and Spanish from Middle Tennessee State University. She is a law student at Thomas Jefferson School of Law and will graduate in 2018. Injae has been involved in various organizations, including the Korean American Bar Association of San Diego (KABA-SD) and Phi Alpha Delta, throughout law school. She will serve as the President for the Asian Pacific Law Students Association (APALSA) for the 2017-2018 academic year. Injae hopes to pursue a career in criminal law in San Diego.

Congratulations to both Julia Kaneshiro and Injae Kang, and thank you to all who showed interest in and supported this year’s KABA-SD Bar Scholarship program!
